Read PDF pages and metadata without uploading the file
DecodeLens combines a canvas-based page preview with extracted page text, document metadata, outline and attachment counts, structural offsets, and a SHA-256 fingerprint. The original bytes remain available for download without being rewritten.
PDF preview boundaries
- Pages are rendered as a passive canvas preview. Annotation UI, AcroForm fields, XFA forms, embedded JavaScript, launch actions, and media are not activated.
- Ten pages are rendered at a time to keep memory usage bounded; longer documents use previous and next page groups.
- Text extraction follows the PDF text layer. Scanned image-only pages require OCR, which this tool does not perform.
- A successful preview is not an antivirus or malware scan and does not establish the trustworthiness of the document.
